David + Ashley ~ Downtown Brighton / Crystal Gardens

“Can you get rid of a sunburn?” That was the question David e-mailed me the day before their engagement session. Goofball had decided that it was a good idea to do some welding without using a face shield a few days before their engagement session in Downtown Rochester last fall. I had no idea what to expect the next day. I was crazy about these two as soon as I met them, as they were so obviously in love and they were just so laid back and fun to be around. David’s “sunburn” wasn’t bad at all, but I love giving him a hard time about it to this day.

Fast forward to their wedding day. It’s a super, crazy, hot June day. We started off at Reflections Salon & Day Spa in Brighton. Ashley and the girls were getting their hair and makeup done and putting together a Jimmy John’s order for later. After spending a bit of time with them, we ran over to the hotel to meet up with the guys. Over the next two hours, we got Ashley into her beautiful wedding dress, took pictures with both the guys and the gals separately (they didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony), and headed over to Crystal Gardens, right down the road in Howell.

The ceremony was perfect (there might have been a little crying, but it was all tears of happiness!) and afterwards we took formal and bridal party photos before spending a bit of time on photographs of the new Mr. and Mrs.

The reception was as perfect as the rest of the day had been, and even Ashley’s grandma joined in the celebration and joined her family and loved ones on the dance floor.
