The day before Justin & Yuqi’s wedding, the forecasters were calling for the winter storm of the century. Yeah, I know we had a few of those “storms of the century” this past winter, but this one just came at such an inconvenient time! Thankfully, Justin offered to get us (my amazing assistant Michelle and I) a room at the Crowne Plaza, which was the wedding venue, the night before the wedding so that we wouldn’t need to worry about the drive into Lansing. The drive there was a little tricky, but I’m happy to day that with careful driving and the fact that I borrowed my hubby’s SUV, we made it in one piece, somewhere around 11:00 pm.
We woke up to snow steadily falling and looking outside, noticed that the snow plows were crazy hard at work around the hotel and on the main roads. Thankfully, many of Justin and Yuqi’s guests had arrived at the hotel the evening prior like we did, and didn’t have to worry about the weather for the time being. Since the weather was so harsh, Justin and Yuqi decided to stay indoors at the hotel for the duration of the wedding. Thankfully, the Crowne Plaza is beautiful and had a lot of fun places to use as backdrops for photographs.
Yuqi looked stunning as she enter the room where the ceremony had been set up. Justin had such a huge grin on his face and you could see the happiness and love in his eyes as his bride was led to his side by her father. After their ceremony, we took photographs around the hotel and hurried back to the reception to begin dinner. There was so much laughter and so many smiles that evening. You could just tell how loved Justin and Yuqi both are by their friends and family. I am so thankful to both Justin and Yuqi for allowing me to share their day with them!
