“It’s less than a month before their wedding. What do you mean they’re switching wedding venues?!” I asked their wedding planner Jeannine, of A Charming Affair. Turns out there were some issues that their original location and they were forced to find a new location at the last minute. Thankfully, they found an even better wedding venue at the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Twp.
The backdrop was picture perfect for a vintage, classy wedding, and they had perfect weather the entire day as well. Jessica was such a laid back bride and wasn’t stressing out about getting married in less than an hour. She was putting the finishing touches on her hair and makeup, laughing and chatting with her girls and giving hugs to the well wishers that kept popping in to say hi. Not surprisingly, Ryan was the same way while waiting for the ceremony to start. He and his guys were just relaxing on the other side of the wall where Jessica was getting into her wedding gown. These two just knew that while they were about to take a huge step, it was the right step. The natural one of them to make.
Ryan and Jess had a traditional binding ceremony and afterwards we hit up some of the historical and scenic spots around the Proving Grounds for some bridal pics. Ryan was the epitome of cool, while Jess was just beaming, soaking up every detail of her wedding day. As we entered the building where the reception was taking place, my breath caught in my throat. The room was decorated just perfectly and all of the details fit the wedding theme so well. They even had a vintage Packard in the corner of the room, reminding everyone of the history of Packard Motors and the role that it played in the development of the Motor City. Dinner was delicious and soon enough, everyone was dancing and just enjoying the evening filled with love, laughter and happiness.
Congratulations Ryan and Jess!
