Getting to know Jackie was a blast from the very beginning. We had talked over the phone, but had been sending e-mails back and forth discussing her upcoming engagement session. Talk about an amazing personality!! Her excitement was infectious and I knew right away that we’d get along great. I couldn’t wait to meet her and Tim in person for their session downtown. They were going to be in town for the weekend to spend some time with Tim’s family while he was on leave and for the holidays. Jackie is a city girl too, and loved the idea of incorporating Tim’s hometown in their engagement photos since their wedding was going to be in her hometown of Chicago.
We spent the afternoon going all over Detroit picking out fun places that they liked for photos. We hit up some of the usual suspects on Woodward Ave. and stopped off for a bit at the Fountain Bistro located in Campus Martius for some yummy hot chocolate (it was a little chilly that day). We had a blast that afternoon-taking pictures, finding random winter boots (inside joke), and forgetting a handmade sign at one point and sending Tim back to see if it was still there (it was)!
Jackie and Tim are quite obviously a perfect match and totally in love with each other. Seriously. It was so obvious that day, and times like that are what make my job so awesome. I got to spend time with two amazing people who also gave me the opportunity to capture their engagement through photos, which will be a special part of their love story forever…
